Adventures in Book Design

After reading several blogs I have notice a need for blog about book design.
In particular Young Adult, Teen and Children's Book design. I will try and write about what I see as common trends good and bad as well as what makes a jacket successful. This is of course all just my opinion and if you feel like I might be leading you astray please by all means lets talk it out.

Let's see where this takes me.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

A must have! Jeff Kinney did an amazing job in this first installment. Jeff and I worked together fine tuning the design of the book. The main concern was to have it look as if it where a diary and some body possible Greg's brother defaced it with the text an picture of a wimpy kid. I think we pulled it off.
